Our client, a leader in the construction materials industry is currently seeking a licensed millwright to maintain all plant machinery. Individuals must be able to work all shifts and continental shifts as well. There will be a good opportunity for overtime in this position.
Location: East York, Toronto
Position: Contract, Contract-to-perm
Salary: To be negotiated
Job Duties
1. Perform arc welding and cutting where required.
2. Machine work, using drill press, bandsaw, lathe, milling machine, grinder.
3. Perform required work with hand tools, such as air guns, electric shears, hand
grinder, screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.
4. Remove, install or rebuild parts, eg; bearings, pumps, gear boxes, clutches, etc.
5. Change or repair cutting cylinders and knives.
6. General fabrication, eg; guards.
7. Read blue prints.
8. Install machines and equipment.
9. Repair machines and equipment.
10. Work on hot oil, steam and airlines and hot oil boilers and steam generators.
11. Oiling and greasing of machines and equipment.
12. Operate a lift truck where required.
13. Operate air compressor.
14. Preventative maintenance.
15. Troubleshoot equipment.
16. Repair plumbing where required.
17. Change ropes on dryers (B2).
18. General maintenance repairs.
19. Housekeeping, ie; keep maintenance shop clean and clean up after all jobs.
20. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Must have excellent communication skills and will be required to do a written mechanical aptitude test.
